Celebrating Our Twelfth Issue of LBK Isles Life

Happy New Year!

With this twelfth issue of LBK Isles Life, we have completed our Start-Up Year, a fitting New Year milestone.

Happy New Year!  I wish you all a wonderful 2019 and look forward to more news, stories, people and LBK Isles Life Events.

In fact, our LBK Isles Life Group Cruise planned for September 7-14, 2019, on Crystal Cruises has inspired this entire issue with a Nautical Theme to most of the stories. I chose this particular Cruise because our LBK Isles Life Travel Adventure Writer, Bob Gary, will be a Guest Lecturer on the ship.  We will begin in Rome and end in Venice, Italy, in time to experience the very important International Art Exhibition, The Venice Biennale. Every two years, this spectacular global Art Event transforms Venice into a mecca for Art Lovers with Pavilions from major countries curating fantastic investments in their own artists in the Biennale Gardens, to the Arsenale, a former Naval Area that houses smaller exhibits, to many gorgeous churches and palazzos taken over by Art Displays just for the Biennale. The Biennale is a Celebration of Contemporary Art and we will have some compelling, insider viewing opportunities.

Come to our LBK Isles Life Luncheon, on January 24, at the new, Italian, Speak-Easy themed Restaurant, Speak's Clam Bar, on St Armands Circle to hear more about our Crystal Cruise from a Crystal Spokesperson and Lael Hazan, who is your contact for reservations on the Cruise. Read Lael's article on Cruising inside, in the Arts & Culture Column.

To all of you, thank you for your support this past year and please join us for our LBK Isles Life Events throughout the year. They will always be announced with time to RSVP.  In 2019, I expect to organize one LBK Isles Life Event that is aligned with a small, local Charity that has connections to you, our LBK Isles Life Readers. I am grateful for the genuine expressions of caring and philanthropy that many of you exhibited at the July Beach Bar-B-Q for Save Our Seabirds and the November Welcome Back/Never Too Late to Dance Party for Compeer. As a Community, you have shown that you care and that you can make a difference.

Thank you and "May You Live in Interesting Times" (Theme of the 58th International Art Exhibition, The 2019 Venice Biennale).

All the best and Be Well,
