Burke Antiques Returns to Palm Avenue

Welcome Back, Cheryl Burke!

Fascinating Cheryl Burke invited us in for a sneak peek at her newly opened Burke Antiques Shop at 72 Palm Avenue South.

Keeping up with Cheryl is a challenge for even the most seasoned collector. She has been the owner of a group of 75 retail, optical shops in the Baltimore/Washington DC area, an Antique Dealer in Sarasota, Florida, beginning in 1998, with some recent time out to live in Turin, Italy, is an inveterate world traveler and is an expert appraiser.

After Cheryl's husband passed away, she reflected on the next steps, knowing that "she could do anything." She decided to make a list of everything that she loves: history, design, old things, and stories were high on the list. She realized that she would like to be an Antique Dealer and pursued advice from the most prominent Antique Dealer in Baltimore, where she lived.

His advice was simple: "Buy the best you can buy."

Cheryl took this advice to heart and never looked back. She has developed a long list of loyal clients who rely on her peerless taste. Cheryl specializes in fine French and Chinese Antiques and has cultivated sources around the world. Her buying trips to Europe are an enjoyable way for her to focus her discerning taste on authentic pieces that work well in our homes, offer points of conversation, have stories to tell, and round out our collections.

Cheryl loves to offer pairs of select items, unusual hand-painted furniture, and fabulous finds that delight her clients. She will have a small area devoted to antique and estate jewelry and is re-landscaping the exterior of her shop.

In addition to offering a gorgeous selection of antiques, Cheryl will buy or take on consignment special pieces that may no longer fit your lifestyle.

Stop in to visit Cheryl soon. She will participate in First Friday Art Walks on Palm Avenue and will be a feature of our April 5, LBK Isles Life Art Walk and Scavenger Hunt. See the Invitation in this issue.
